End-to-end encrypted notes
Your free-text notes are encrypted in your browser with a key only you hold. Even we can't read them. The rest of your data is encrypted at rest on the server.
No ads, no trackers, no third-party cookies
There is no advertising anywhere in Elos and no analytics SDK following you around the web. The project is funded by supporters and donations, not by your attention.
Your contacts are never sold or shared
Elos never sells, rents or shares your contacts or activity. Importing a phone contact or a .vcf file keeps that data inside your account and nowhere else.

Sign in with Nostr — a cryptographic key that never leaves your device — if you'd rather not tie your relationship data to an email at all.

Is Elos really private?
Yes. Elos runs no ads and no third-party trackers, your free-text notes are end-to-end encrypted so not even the server can read them, and the whole database is encrypted at rest. The code is open source, so these claims are auditable.
Can the Elos team read my notes?
No. End-to-end encrypted notes are encrypted in your browser with a key derived from your password (or Nostr key) plus a recovery code. We only ever store the ciphertext.
How is Elos funded if it doesn't sell data?
By people who value it — an optional paid plan and donations. That's the whole model, which is exactly why your data doesn't have to be the product.
